Christmas Gift Ideas for Men.

I don't know why but I always find men the most difficult to shop for.
Shopping for females – No problem what so ever! So many things to choose from, although maybe that is because I'm female… So I can base my ideas on what I would like to receive…

In the list of gift items and ideas to help get you started, the items are general but you can go onto finding personalized items.
For example – You see that a wallet is listed below as a gift idea – You want to buy a wallet for your father or granddad – In this case usually a nice luxury leather wallet in black or brown will be appreciated.
But if you are looking for a wallet for your boyfriend who is in his 20’s you will probably want something more fun and funky whether that is a lime green dyed leather wallet (if those are even available?!), something black with skulls on or guitars or whatever he is into...

Onto the Idea List…

CD’s - Who does he like, which band is his favorite? Buy him the new CD out of his favorite singer or band or a greatest hits CD….. Try to make sure he doesn’t already have it though!

DVD’s – What type of films does he like? Action, Drama, Sci-fi? The list is endless, you could also consider buying him the box set of his favorite TV program past or present – Amazon.com have practically everything ever made!!

Books – Whether the latest novel from his favorite author, an autobiography or special interest books such as those written about football, animals, cars, music etc.

Clothes – From the usual socks and ties that every guy seems to get for Christmas to a new shirt, trousers, jumper, even a hat and scarf if he wears them in the cold weather. If you are at a loss as to what styles sizes to get him you could get a gift voucher from the shop or even take a look in one of his shirts etc when he is not looking to see the size, keep the receipt and if it’s the wrong size he can always take it back.

Gift Vouchers – Ok so they are a bit of an easy option but at least you’re sure he will get something he actually wants, without the hassle of refunds. Vouchers could be for so many shops and places… clothes shops, book shops, even a specialty wine shop or restaurant. How about one of those money cards which is like a credit card, where you put a certain amount of cash onto the card then he can spend it wherever he wants.

Car Related Items – From cleaning items to seat covers, sound system even an in car navigation system.

Diary / Organizer – Always a necessity with the new year around the corner! Take a look at the diary he has now, is it pocket size, does it have pages for each day or pages split into weeks…

Mobile Phone & Accessories – Get him the latest model which does all the “fancy things”! If he already has it then how about new covers, a case, a hands free set, even a new ring tone or credit!

Gadgets – You know the sort, the clock that tells you the time in 5 countries, a penknife which does everything, a remote control which operates the TV and the video and the DVD player all in one!

Geekery – You know the sort, t-shirts, mugs, pillows, mouse mats, misc. little ornaments and figures featuring robots, computer related items, cartoons etc.

Beer / Wine / Coffee / Whiskey – Which leads onto items like a wine rack, decanter, glasses, bottle opener/corkscrews and more.

Sport or Concert Tickets – Which does he like? What would he really like to go and see? You can’t go very wrong; just remember that they sell out quickly!!

Kitchen / Cookery Items – Maybe you know a chef, or at least someone who loves to cook… You could buy him a set of quality saucepans, kitchen utensils, a fun apron, a cookbook or a selection of herbs and spices…

Belt – How about a nice new leather belt? Practically everyone needs a belt and you can never have too many, in my opinion anyway!

Wallet – As mentioned above, from leather to fun vinyl / ductape wallets. There some really fun and funky ones available online…

Gift Basket – You probably think of gift baskets as being feminine but they don't have to be…. Get one with his favorite sweets or snacks in, a selection of beer or wine… If he is a gardener fill a basket with bulbs and garden equipment!

Cigars – Only if he smokes them of course! Buy him a few quality cigars and/or smoking accessories.

Computer or Game Console Items – From new games to a wireless mouse and keyboard, a web cam, printer, scanner even blank CD's or extra memory for the console!

Jewelry – Again, another thing we usually associate with women but there is a wide range of male jewelry available now, from chains to rings and not forgetting Cufflinks and tie pins, if that doesn't sound like your guy then how about a new watch?

Bag / Laptop Bag / Briefcase – Again another everyday item, makes a good gift if his bag at the moment is a bit old and falling apart!

Office Accessories – If he works in an office how about some items to “spruce” up his work space such as desk tidies, pens, a clock or photographs / art or maybe a business card holder.

Tools – Whether he is a gardener, DIY man, mechanic or even a chef, everyone can use tools and gadgets to help them!

Chocolate / Sweets – Another favorite that guys get every year! Try and go for quality ones, which he can really enjoy. Maybe he has some favorites like truffles or dark chocolate.

Toiletries / Shaving kit – More essentials, whether you buy him a large bottle of his favorite aftershave or a selection in travel sized bottles. Don’t forget random other items like razors, soap, whatever he regularly uses really.

Camera / Video Camera – If he has those you could buy him more blank cds or tapes, a larger memory card, lenese or a tripod, even photo paper if he prints a lot of photos himself!

Experiences – You know those ones you see advertised like Rally Driving, Hot Air Balloon Flight, Flying Lessons. You could even name a star after him or adopt an animal in his name….

Jigsaw Puzzle – Ok so it’s a bit old fashioned but some people still like to do them, especially the brainteaser type ones where you don’t have a picture to follow or there are no corners! Or you could have a personalized one made with a photo of his family or a pet on it... even his car!

Personalized Newspaper - Newspaper from the day he was born, day he got married etc or have a personalized one made about his favorite football team or the birth of his son or daughter.

Art – Whether a print or original, watercolor or oil, even a self portrait of him or his family. From scenic to abstract, so many choices, what does he like? You could also get him a picture frame with a picture of you / his family / friends inside.

Sport & Fitness Items – New football boots / kit, new trainers, tracksuit, swimming trunks, whatever sport he does I’m sure you could buy him something he can use. If he goes to the gym how about paying for 6months membership or getting him a personal trainer?

Magazine Subscription – So many magazines out there, photography, cars and motorbikes, choose a magazine subscription that will interest him, maybe even a subscription to a magazine he reads already buys weekly from the shop.

Hobby Related Items – Is he interested in sport, music – maybe he is in a band, gardening, golf, cars, travel, photography… Whatever his hobby there will be gifts to go with it!


Well, I hope this list has given you some ideas … Just keep in mind what his interests and hobbies are plus favorite colors and if worse comes to worse just ask him for some gift ideas!
